Partial Classes in C#

This post is based on Chapter 5 of Andrew Troelsen’s “Pro C# 2008 and the .Net Platform” availble from Apress.

Partial classes cimply allow you to define a class across several .cs files. If you’re a ASP.NET or windows forms developer you will know this already from the .designer.cs classes – adn this is also a very good example of the intended use.
Basically it’s a tool for removing code clutter from your classes and provides a mean for seperating code from large class definitions into logical units.
